Biography: Miranda Walker
Miranda is an author and scriptwriter for stage, TV and radio. Her plays include Fly Eddie Fly, about Olympic ski jumper Eddie the Eagle. Her work has been staged at venues including the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, The Courtyard Theatre and Landor Theatre, London, Brass Works Theatre, Bristol and The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury. Other credits include flagship comedies The Now Show and The News Quiz for BBC Radio 4, and two short films. She also writes story books and educational books for publishers OUP and Hodder. Her graphic text adaptation of The Secret Garden was recently published, with illustrations by Zosia Dzierzawska. Miranda is currently developing an original sitcom with a TV production company, and writing a picture book.
Miranda lectures in Creative Writing at the University of Gloucestershire, and at The Theatre, Chipping Norton. She finds fostering a love of writing hugely exciting, especially when working with children and young people in schools and the wider community.
