During the COVID-19 pandemic, Beyond Words continued to run remotely, with students meeting writer and poet Caleb Parkin for creative writing workshops via Zoom. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the students produced two anthologies:

The 2020 anthology was launched live at the Cheltenham Literature Festival where the students were able to meet in-person for the first time. In 2021, the project culminated in a digital celebration at the online Literature Festival.

Beyond Words empowers and dignifies young people with health conditions who would otherwise feel isolated, marginalised and forgotten about. We cannot thank the authors enough for providing us with precious insights into their hearts and minds and for inspiring us with their strength, candour, courage, authenticity and vulnerability - Dr Ahmed Hankir, Academic Clinical Fellow in Psychiatry at Kings College London, 2021
