How to Book

Online
Online Booking is available 24/7 via our website. Tickets are currently on general sale for The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival.

By Phone
Our phonelines are closed as the Box Office team are ready to welcome you to our in-person box office at our Festival Village on Montpellier Gardens.
The box office can be contacted 24/7 throughout the Literature Festival by using our Contact Us Form or by emailing boxoffice@cheltenhamfestivals.com

In Person
There will be a pop-up Box Office at the Festival Village on Montpellier Gardens. The team will be ready to welcome you to the Box Office for the duration of the Festival.
Sales will be card only. We currently only accept payment via Visa or Mastercard.

  • We do not accept orders made by post or email. Post and email ticket requests will not be processed.

By card: We accept payments by Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. We cannot take payment by American Express or Diners Card.

Please consider making a donation

Cheltenham Festivals is a not-for-profit organisation and we rely on contributions from customers to ensure the continuation of the Festivals each year. We ask all our supporters if they are able to help us with a donation when they are booking with us and we suggest an amount of 10% of the order total.

Registering with our website

To book tickets for events online you will need to set up a Cheltenham Festivals online account. To do this please click on Log-in at the top right-hand side of the navigation bar on the website. You will then be taken to a page to register your details.

Keep in touch

You can opt in to receive Cheltenham Festivals E-News which will keep you up to date with Festival news throughout the year. You can do this when setting up your account or can register on our website.

You can change your preferences at any time by logging into your account. give us permission to send you email and we’ll keep in touch throughout the Festival year.

You can recover your password at any time.

Having trouble registering?

Your login is unique to you and links to your festival account, our website uses your email address as your username. If you have a problem registering with the website it is likely that you already have a festival account set up using that same email address. Using your original email address recover your password and you’ll be able to access your account.

Receiving Your Tickets

Tickets purchased online

Will normally be delivered to you digitally as an e-ticket.

When placing an online order you will receive a confirmation email and then a second carrier email that includes your tickets as an attachment.

You can print this attachment out and bring it with you or be ready to show it to staff on your mobile device to gain entry to your events along with proof of purchase.

Please make sure you have a print out of the ticket or that it will be available to view by our staff on a mobile device you are bringing with you.

If for any reason you are not arriving with other people in your party please ensure that they have a copy of the e-ticket as they will not be admitted without it.

Access Requirements

Cheltenham Festivals aims to offer customers with access requirements an easy service when booking tickets.

Accessible Booking

To make an access booking, please contact us at boxoffice@cheltenhamfestivals.com or visit our onsite box office in Montpellier Gardens from the 8th October, we will be open 9.30am – 7.00pm Monday – Friday and 9.00am-7.00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Assistance dogs
Are welcome. Please provide proof that the dog is registered with an organisation that is a member of Assistance Dogs UK.

Captioned events
You can discover which events are captioned at our Festival by using the Closed Caption filter on the What’s On pages.

Venue access and facilities

Strobe Lighting
Should an event contain strobe lighting there will be on-site warnings at the venue.

Loud noises
Should an event contain sudden and loud noises there will be on-site warnings at the venue.

Fees, Discounts & Refunds

Our booking fee

As a registered charity Cheltenham Festivals charges a booking fee to cover the costs associated with providing our booking facilities.

Our charges are in line with the rising costs of this service which includes the cost of staffing, banking, developing, and maintaining our booking software and postage.

Our booking fees are as follows:

  • Online sales £2.00
  • Telephone sales £2.00
  • In-person card sales £2.00

We endeavour to keep our booking fees as low as possible and charge on a per order basis rather than per ticket to ensure this. We also clarify our booking fees before any transaction is completed.


Discounts

Are not available for events which include catering, books or any other goods in the ticket price.

Group discounts: These are available on many events (10% off the total cost for a party of ten or more). Please email our box office if you wish to make a group booking.

Personal Assistants: Tickets for customers who are registered disabled will be charged the standard price of the ticket. If you require a carer, support worker or personal assistant their ticket is complimentary.

Please note that events which include catering, books or any other goods, do not qualify for a free personal assistant ticket.

Members discounts: Gold and Silver Members receive a 10% discount on a specified number of tickets per event. 16-25 Members discounts vary. See our membership page for full details.

Proof of concession is required so please be prepared to show relevant ID upon admission to events if you are purchasing tickets with a concession.

There are no senior citizens discounts for any of our Festivals


Refunds

  • Please double check your order before proceeding to payment as from the moment that the transaction is completed your tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
  • We cannot refund money or exchange tickets, except in the case of a cancelled event, which will be refunded within 28 days.
  • Lost or stolen tickets are non-refundable and no duplicate tickets will be issued.
  • Please check your tickets as soon as you receive them.

Please be advised that event speakers and or content may be subject to change. We cannot refund these tickets if the event is still taking place.

We take no responsibility for what artists and speakers say on stage. While we make best efforts to ensure that the quality of the event meets our usual high standards and is not offensive, upsetting or illegal, no refunds can be offered on the basis of what an artist or speaker says or does (or fails to say or do) during an event.


Cancellations

If an event has to be cancelled it will be announced as soon as possible. Please check our website, Facebook and Twitter pages regularly for updates. If you have bought tickets you will be contacted, usually via email or telephone and we will arrange a ticket refund or exchange.

Gift Aid

Donations & Gift Aid

As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, we depend on your support to bring the arts and sciences live to audiences, support emerging talent, and deliver inspirational educational programmes.

By making a donation, however big or small you will be making a real difference.

Ways to Donate

  • You can donate online at cheltenhamfestivals.com/donate
  • You can add a donation to your ticket order (suggested donation is 10% of total cost of your order)
  • During the Festivals you can contribute to the pink donation tubs found in various locations on site

Your donation, no matter what size, will make a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Gift Aid
Gift Aid is an HMRC scheme that increases the value of donations from UK taxpayers by 25%, at no extra cost to the donor. For example, Gift Aid increases a £10.00 donation to £12.50, providing extra support for our work.

If you are eligible to sign up for Gift Aid you can do this as part of the donation process or when you book or register online through your account page.
