How to Select Your Own Seat

Tickets to this year’s Literature Festival are being sold online only via our website. This year you will be able to choose what seats you sit in using our interactive seating plan. Although it may take you a little longer to book your tickets, we hope that this will give you reassurance and confidence, knowing that you are socially distanced from other audience members. Please follow this step=by-step guide on how to book tickets using select your own seat.


Please note – if you haven’t already activated your online account you’ll need to complete this step first. Click on the button below and enter your email address. You will then receive an email from us with a link enabling you to set a new password.

Activate your online account

Step 1: Log-in to your account

Log-in to your account by clicking the log-in button top right in the navigation bar and entering your email address and password when prompted.


Step 2: Pick your event

Browse our What’s On grid, find an event you’re interested in and click ‘Info’ to find out more or ‘Buy Now’ to proceed to booking.


Step 3: Choose your seat

First, pick which section of the auditorium you would like to sit in.

Then pick your seats. Seats will be arranged in socially-distanced blocks of 1 or 2. Please make sure that if you sit in a block of 2 then you buy both seats. If you are attending alone then please buy a single seat. Once you have added your seats, hit the ‘Add to Basket’ button.


Step 4: Check your seat, donate and add more events

Make sure to check your seat numbers at this stage as they are non-exchangeable or refundable. You can also select a donation option at this stage. We are hugely grateful to everyone who has donated so far. If you would like to add more events to your basket then you can click ‘Find more events’ to browse the What’s On grid. Once you are ready to pay, click ‘Checkout’.


Step 5: Confirm your e-ticket and address

For both safety and environmental reasons, we are using e-tickets that will be sent via email on completion of your booking. Double-check that the ‘e-tickets’ box is checked and either select your billing address from the dropdown or add a new billing address. Once these steps are complete, click ‘Proceed to Payment’.


Step 6: Add your payment details

Enter your payment details and review your order in the ‘Order Summary’. Once you have done this, click ‘Confirm Purchase’.


Step 7: Receive your ticket

After confirming your purchase you will receive two emails, your order confirmation and your e-ticket. Your order confirmation will confirm your payment and the e-ticket will confirm the seats you have booked. Please bring your e-ticket with you on the day of the event. You can present it on your phone or you can print it out.
