Fees, Discounts & Refunds
Our booking fee
Our fee covers the cost of processing your transaction, debit and credit card fees, staffing, developing and maintaining our booking software and postage if required.
Our booking fees are as follows:
- Online sales £2.50
- Telephone sales £2.50
- In person card sales £1.50
There is no fee for in person sales by cash
- Science for Schools – Schools bookings £5
- Science for Schools – Home Educator bookings £2
We endeavour to keep our booking fees as low as possible and charge on a per order basis rather than per ticket to ensure this. We also clarify our booking fees before any transaction is completed.
Concessions, discounts and offers
Discounts are not available for events which include catering, books or any other goods in the ticket price.
Group bookings: These are available on many events (10% off the total cost for a party of ten or more). Please contact our box office for information.
Carers: Tickets for customers who are registered disabled will be charged the standard price of the ticket. If you require a carer, support worker or personal assistant their ticket is complimentary. Please see our Access Requirements page.
Members: Gold and Silver Members receive a 10% discount on a specified number of tickets per event. 16-25 Members discounts vary. See our membership page for full details.
Tickets will not be posted if proof of concession is required so please be prepared to show relevant ID at the Box Office and upon admission to events if you are purchasing tickets with a concession.
There are no senior citizens discounts for any of our festivals
Refunds and exchanges
Please check your tickets as soon as you receive them. We cannot refund money or exchange tickets, except in the case of a cancelled event, which will be refunded within 28 days.
Please be advised that event speakers and or content may be subject to change. We cannot refund these tickets if the event is still taking place.
We take no responsibility for what artists and speakers say on stage. While we make best efforts to ensure that the quality of the event meets our usual high standards and is not offensive, upsetting or illegal, no refunds can be offered on the basis of what an artist or speaker says or does (or fails to say or do) during an event.
If an event has to be cancelled it will be announced as soon as possible. Please check our website, Facebook and Twitter pages regularly for updates. If you have bought tickets you will be contacted, usually via email or telephone and we will arrange a ticket refund or exchange.
