Cheltenham Science Festival is a 6-day programme of shows, talks, workshops, interactive exhibits and more. From the 5th to 10th of June 2018, our beautiful regency town of Cheltenham will welcome schools, families and adults to join scientists, engineers, comedians, writers, mathematicians, performers and other science enthusiasts to explore the world around them in new ways.
The Festival primarily takes place in the Cheltenham Town Hall and on Imperial Gardens with many of our events taking place in purpose-built marquees. We also use some satellite venues around Cheltenham, and run activities in the town centre.
In 2017, we ran a programme of over 150 public events, 50 school events and a range of interactive exhibits and zones. We issued over 40,000 tickets, saw over 25,000 visits to our free interactive activities on the Festival site, and had over 7000 visits to free activities in the town centre. Of those surveyed, 73% of our audience agreed the Festival has inspired them to learn more about science. We also achieved over 300 items of press and broadcast media, reaching an audience of over 30 million.
