Join mathematicians Katie Steckles and James Grime for a mathematical strategy masterclass. Flex your problem-solving skills and strategic thinking to play some simple mathematical games. Pick up new skills and learn how to apply your new-found strategies to beat future board game opponents.

We are running family versions of this workshop earlier in the day at 11:30am and 2pm.

Biography

James Grime is a mathematician and public speaker. James travels the world giving public talks on the history and mathematics of codes and code breaking. James can also be found talking about all other things mathematical on the YouTube channel Numberphile.

Katie Steckles is a mathematician based in Manchester, who gives talks and workshops and writes about mathematics. She finished her PhD in 2011, and since then has talked about maths in schools, at science festivals, on BBC radio and TV, at music festivals, as part of theatre shows and on the internet. She currently lectures part-time at Sheffield Hallam University.
