Does learning science teach us how to think like a scientist? And is there just one single way that scientists think? Delve into the very nature of science with FameLab alumnus Martin Coath and challenge yourself to come up with your own scientific questions. Learn how scientific results can help us answer our biggest questions and whether there are any questions even science cannot answer.

This is a workshop, so assemble the necessary materials and prepare to get hands-on

Dr Martin Coath is Associate Lecturer at the University of Plymouth developing programming and public engagement workshops, and Senior Affiliated Researcher at the University of Lapland. Apart from research and running workshops, his own projects explore awareness of science, art, and what it means to be a citizen of a technologically advanced, and creative human community.

He has run workshops in many parts of the world, appeared at science festivals, at the Science Museum in London, the Wellcome Trust, and has worked for the Ri, Oxford University, the British Council and Nottingham Prison (!) among many others. He is a FameLab finalist and judge, twice winner of ‘I’m a Scientist Get Me Out Of Here!’ and has written and performed science songs for the Edinburgh Festival.
