Take Part in 'Invisible, Real' at Cheltenham Jazz Festival

Improviser, performer and composer Faye MacCalman is collecting responses to inform a brand-new audio-visual installation she is creating for Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2022.

Invisible, Real will challenge the stigma and stereotypes surrounding mental illness. At Cheltenham Jazz Festival, audiences will visit a subconscious dream-zone space where mental illness and inner worlds are explored, including anonymous contributions from the public.

Faye MacCalman is one of four jazz artists who have been awarded a Jerwood Jazz Encounters Fellowship to create ground-breaking new ways to present jazz at Festivals across England. Site-specific and digital works by Elliot Galvin, Lara Jones and Witch ‘n’ Monk will also be presented at Manchester Jazz Festival, Oxford Contemporary Music and Sage Gateshead.
