For the past six years, Ray supported the Box Office and Marketing team across the entire Festival season, tirelessly distributing Festival brochures all around Gloucestershire. He also took great pleasure in selling programme books during Cheltenham Music Festival at Pittville Pump Room and was often seen at the Box Office on-site at Festivals welcoming ticket buyers and deftly managing the queue.
We loved seeing Ray coming into our offices, invariably accompanied by his adorable dachshund, Bunty. Always charming and nattily dressed, Ray was notable for his dapper wardrobe of waistcoats, tweed jackets, bow ties, loud shirts and even on occasion, plus fours. It was always a pleasure to encounter him during the Festivals in his other role working front of house for Cheltenham Town Hall.
Ray’s love for the Festivals and devoted service spreading the word about them across the county will be hugely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Mary and his two daughters Margaux and Edwina.
