Cheltenham Festivals is a leading cultural organisation and charity with around 36 days of festivals of Literature, Jazz, Music and Science as well as year round educational and community projects.
The Cheltenham Science Festival welcomes around 60,000 visitors over a 6-day period in June every year. We are looking for a full-time Schools and Family Programme Manager with a track record of developing events and experiences for children and young people and an enthusiasm for creating and seeking out new formats and techniques to engage these audiences with science.
The postholder will be responsible for events, workshops, interactive exhibits and free activities around the festival site and town.
You will be well organised, have meticulous attention to detail and enjoy working in a team and sharing creative ideas but you will also need to be self-reliant, with the drive and initiative to prioritise and manage complex workloads in a cross team environment. Most importantly you will have a passion for science and be committed to innovative ways of engaging children and families in contemporary science matters.
