We’re delighted to announce that world-class British Jazz pianist John Taylor is to join a capella virtuosos The Swingle Singers at the Music Festival in July for an exclusive performance as part of the group’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
In a nod to The Swingle Singers’ early ground-breaking performances as jazz/classical crossover artists, the 2013 performance will see the group’s current line-up of young and talented voices mix dazzling vocal percussion with John Taylor’s sophisticated classically influenced jazz style.
Ed Randell of The Swingle Singers commented:
“We are so thrilled to be collaborating with John Taylor in our 50th year. He is a towering figure in British jazz and a true inspiration to us. John’s playing conjures a dreamlike landscape somewhere between the worlds of classical, jazz and folk music. We can’t wait to explore it together.”
John Taylor joins The Swingle Singers in Cheltenham Town Hall on Friday 5 July.
