Ema Nikolovska mezzo soprano
Alessandro Fisher tenor
Sholto Kynoch pianist
Macedonian mezzo-soprano Ema Nikolovska ended 2019 on a high: winning the Song Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, and being selected both as a BBC New Generation Artist and a member of the Young Classical Artists Trust. A keen performer of song repertoire, with a richly toned voice, Ema opens our second NGA recital. She is joined by lyric tenor Alessandro Fisher, who in addition to the NGA scheme, is an Associate Artist of Classical Opera and won First Prize at the 2016 Kathleen Ferrier Awards. They are accompanied by Sholto Kynoch, founder and Artistic Director of the Oxford Lieder Festival, and a sought-after pianist specializing in song and chamber music, in a stunning programme featuring Brahms, Poulenc and Mahler amongst others.
The Town Hall, situated on Imperial Gardens in the centre of Cheltenham comprises of a Grand Main Hall, distinguished by its Corinthian styles columns and coved ceiling. The Main Hall is accompanied by dining and drawing rooms, as well as the Pillar Room bar.
The venue’s early 20th century Edwardian elegance makes it the classic ‘shoebox’ concert hall. With a seating capacity of 900, the Town Hall is perfectly suited to grand symphony orchestra performances with a thrilling impact.
