Community & Education

A chance to sample the best of the Music Festival’s community work with a new interview remembering Across the Sky one year on, special community opera mini-documentaries, and all our wonderful interactive Musicate Monday films, created specially for life during lockdown.

Community Opera: Looking Back

One year on from Across The Sky, our first-ever community opera project, Pip Claridge and Michael Betteridge talk about the experience of creating the show, the impact of the project and their own highlights from July 2019.

Community Opera: The Films

10 months of workshops, rehearsals and intensive planning culminated in one of the most exciting events ever produced by Cheltenham Music Festival – a brand new, specially-commissioned community opera, Across The Sky.

Musicate Mondays

Musicate offers training and professional development for teachers and University music students with a passion for inspiring the next generation. Not deterred by the coronavirus pandemic, the team of Musicats, lead by Musicate mentors Rebecca Nash and Ben Jones, have created a series of videos allowing school children from all over the world to benefit from the Musicate programme.

Whether you’re at home or in school, you can still take part in Musicate. Start by getting to know our Musicats, then work your way through the Musicake, having fun and learning as you go.

Click through our Musicate Monday playlist below. Or view it on YouTube.

You can also visit our Musicate at home webpage, the permanent home of Musicate Mondays.
