Much-loved artist and best-selling author Charlie Mackesy’s drawings of the boy, the mole, the fox and the horse have been a sensation; a wonderful window into the human heart, Charlie’s drawings are a reminder of the most important things in life. His tales of love, friendship and kindness have given hope to many in uncertain times. He shares with Helen Atkinson-Wood what has inspired his work and what he has planned for the future.

‘The world that I am required to inhabit is this one. But the world that I long to inhabit is the one that Charlie Mackesy has created.’

Elizabeth Gilbert
