What is the secret to being happy? Can meditation help? Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk, meditation teacher and author. As an actor in New York in his twenties he suffered from severe burnout and a life-threatening heart problem. This dramatic wake-up call let him to a Buddhist monastery in Scotland where he ordained as a monk. Thubten’s training over the past 25 years has included spending over six years in intensive meditation retreats and he has worked with everyone from Ruby Wax to Benedict Cumberbatch, with schools, prisons, major Corporations such as Google and Deloitte and with the United Nations. Thubten’s bestselling book A Monk’s Guide to Happiness explores the nature of happiness and helps to bust the myth that our 21st-century lives and minds are too busy for meditation.
