Ever wanted to perform as part of an internationally renowned jazz festival? Well now you can! We are searching for musicians to participate in events all over the town as part of the 2020 Cheltenham Jazz Festival, with a range of opportunities from pop up performances to formal stages. From acoustic singer-songwriters, to full blown bands, we are welcoming everyone! We are also on the lookout for dancers, artists and street performers – that’s right – anybody can take part, not just jazz musicians!
The …around town programme aims to fill the town centre with free music, with over 100 performances across the town and festival site in 2019! Performances take place during the Festival across a variety of outdoor pop up locations in the town centre, outdoor stages in the town centre and the Festival site, as well as pubs and clubs. Participating in the Around Town programme provides you with a fantastic platform to showcase your work and is a great way to get yourself noticed – jazz artists, agents and promoters are around morning and night taking in the jazz vibe over the festival period.
After the Festival we invite promising artists from the …around town line-up to apply for our Showcase talent development programme for the following year. This is a bespoke package of career support including a mentoring session with key music industry figures, a performance in the Jazz Arena, career support from the festival team and more. This unique opportunity is only open to artists who have previously performed as part of Around Town, so apply now for …around town to unlock this future opportunity.
We will pay a fixed contribution to expenses of £160 and your event and promo details will be listed in our dedicated Around Town flyer, on our website and the festival app. Additional opportunities may be available while you are at the festival, but these are not guaranteed.
