More names have been revealed for Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2018 (2 – 7 May)! They will appear alongside the headliners already announced (Randy Crawford, Beth Hart, Kamasi Washington, and Christian McBride Big Band).
Donny McCaslin and his band will perform the only UK date of their tour on Sunday 6 May. The three-time Grammy nominated saxophonist’s star has risen enormously since his group was chosen by David Bowie to back his final album Blackstar. His latest release, Beyond Now, is a set of covers and originals dedicated to Bowie.
American pianist Jason Moran is known as a true innovator and his trio, the Bandwagon have earned a reputation as ‘the best rhythm section in jazz’. They play the Festival on Saturday 5 May.
Meanwhile, on Friday 4 May, Mercury Prize-nominated Dinosaur, led by trumpeter Laura Jurd will bring their trademark folk-infused grooves and glistening melodies – all tied together by a love for extemporisation and improvisation.
The full Jazz Festival line-up will be announced in February and tickets for the three new names will be available then.
