About The Jazz Festival

With over 20,000 music-fans getting in the festival swing every year, Cheltenham has become one of the country’s best-loved jazz festivals. Our trade-mark mix of international jazz icons, up-and-coming new artists and unique festival performances has seen us host some of the world’s greatest musicians over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Previous guests include Randy Crawford, Nubya Garcia, Kamasi Washington, Gregory Poter, Courtney Pine, Katie Melua, Hugh Laurie, Laura Mvula, Eartha Kitt, Caro Emerald, Corinne Bailey Rae, Imelda May, Soweto Kinch, Van Morrison, Yazz Ahmed, Kansas Smitty’s, Stephane Grappelli, Chick Corea, Joshua Redman and Ornette Coleman.

Our festival site in Montpellier Gardens at the heart of Cheltenham is the perfect place to soak up an outstanding festival atmosphere. Featuring a feast of free outdoor music, a selection of food and drink stalls, and fun family activities – it’s the only place to be over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The great thing about Cheltenham Jazz Festival is that it brings together so many genres under the umbrella of jazz…I think it is one of the best Jazz Festivals in the world so it’s amazing for me to be here
