LabLive 2017: Spectacular Touring Science Shows for KS3

This year over 3500 pupils from 70 schools enjoyed our 14 excellent LabLive shows at 7 EDF Energy locations around the UK: Lancaster, Hartlepool, Hull, Gainsborough, Bridgewater, Romney and Southwold. Thanks to EDF Energy, we were able to take 4 of our best presenters from the Cheltenham Science Festival to excite pupils in year 8 and 9 with science and maths.

LabLive is an opportunity for pupils to see STEM subjects in a unique way, to generate enthusiasm and engagement. Also they get the chance to hear real experts who are passionate about their field.

Our fantastic presenters – Katie Steckles (Shapes and Smoke Rings), Matthew Tosh (The Science of Fireworks), Ginny Smith (Hack Your Brain) and Jonathan Milton (The Wonderful World of Robots) – included an exciting mix of demonstrations, audience interaction and great science. As well as engaging young minds, these shows exposed pupils to the benefits of studying science, technology, engineering and maths at GCSE and beyond.

Great opportunity to bring science alive.
