Jazz for Schools 2019

915 pupils from 23 schools engaged in this year’s offer, which comprised:
• A bespoke concert for Key stage 2 pupils featuring members of the Kansas Smitty’s, three Musicats and two special guest musicians
• A music industry panel event followed by the opportunity to watch the live rehearsal with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Guy Barker Big Band
• A platform for 10 school jazz bands to showcase their talents at the Jazz Festival as part of Jazz It Up

About the Concert for Schools

Excellent organisation. Great how the presenters made it interesting for the children using the aliens. Teachers loved it too!

About Behind the Scenes

This was our fourth year attending this event and it was received exceptionally well by our students. Being able to bring students across three courses and have them be in front of a panel covering all their disciplines of study is such a valuable experience. They loved the opportunity to view the rehearsal and I have received numerous comments from students since about how much they enjoyed the event. CF staff (as always) were professional, helpful and a pleasure to work with.

Great venue, good equipment, huge crowd etc Thank you once again for an excellent experience – it’s everybody’s annual musical highlight.

Teacher, St Peter’s High School

The staff were very welcoming, and I felt that I got all the help I needed. The audience during our performance was great, they absolutely loved it. The Free Stage was fabulous…
