

Luxury Cheltenham cinema The Screening Rooms will be creating a boutique Festival cinema in Montpellier Gardens especially for the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May. Opening on Friday 4 May, The Screening Rooms @ Cheltenham Jazz Festival will be screening an eclectic selection of jazz inspired films over the bank holiday weekend, including a special programme put together by the Festival’s Artist in Residence Paloma Faith.
Highlights include A Nice Touch a film noir inspired short film starring Dougray Scott and Paloma Faith, styled by Esquire magazine and with music by Guy Barker. Following the screening of the film join the Jazz Festival’s Artist in Residence as she talks to jazz legend Guy Barker and scientist Benedetto De Martino about her latest film. Tickets for this exclusive event are £12.
There's also a chance to see Ray, the critically acclaimed film following the life and career of Ray Charles. If you didn’t get a chance to go to Friday Night is Music Night here is the next best thing. Jamie Foxx is superb and he won Best Leading Actor at the Oscars for his portrayal of Ray.
Plus, at intervals between 2 and 6pm on Bank Holiday Monday, excerpts from Jamie Cullum's stunning performance at last year's Jazz Festival wil be shown for free
