Do you have a suggestion for The Times Cheltenham Science Festival?

The Times Cheltenham Science Festival is a curated festival.  This means that most of the events are developed and run by the festival team, and we work with a number of partners, sponsors and supporters – including our advisory group – to do this. We do also take proposals for performances and talks from individuals and groups.  And we welcome suggestions for topics and speakers from anyone.  

If you have an idea or suggestion for the festival we would love to hear it.  We will consider all proposals on their own merit and in association with the other events that we are planning, in order to ensure a broad programme of topics and styles.  Unlike a number of other science festivals we do not ‘sell’ event slots via a formal application process.

Deadlines

Our main programming period runs from the end of the previous festival through to the end of January, but you can submit ideas at any point.  The earlier in the cycle you submit an idea, the easier it will be for us to integrate it into our planning process. The final programme is made public in early April.

A note about funding

Cheltenham Festivals is a registered charity, and the Science Festival does not receive any platform funding.  It is paid for by event sponsorship and the income generated from ticket sales.  It is likely that, unless you wish to sponsor the event yourself, we would need to find another sponsor or funder who is willing to support your suggested event at the festival.

Submitting your idea

To submit your suggestion for a topic, speaker, show or any other projects please fill out the form below with as much information as you can. Please note that unless it is a proven format we are unlikely simply to provide a venue and hand over responsibility to you.  Instead it is more likely that we would work together with you to produce an event that our audiences will appreciate. 

If you would like to suggest yourself for an event please give details of any other similar events that you have been involved in and include links to film clips or podcasts if available.
