2012 Festival dates: 5 - 14 October

Come and experience the delight of seeing and hearing some of your favourite authors and discovering the writing talents of many of the nation's leading commentators, presenters and public figures at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival.

Names announced for 2012 so far include Pam Ayers, Pat Barker, Mary Beard, Giles Coren, Carol Ann Duffy, Gavin Esler, Richard Ford, Anthony Horowitz, Mark Haddon, Richard Ingrams, Dom Joly, Russell Kane, John McCarthy, Roger Moore, Neil Oliver, Michael Palin, Ian Rankin, Jack Straw, Kate Summerscale, Jeremy Vine and Jacqueline Wilson.

The Big Read

The Big Read

Established in 2007, the Big Read has become a project embraced by book lovers all over the region. Every year book groups take place in venues across Gloucestershire in the run up to the Literature Festival, all joining to read one title. During the Festival itself hugely successful book group meetings, as well as panel events thematically linked to the Big Read, are held and are always incredibly popular.

Write Away

Write Away

Our programme of creative writing workshops is a core element of the Literature Festival and recognised nationwide for its tutors.
