In an era of dumbed-down education, this is an oasis of scientific stimulation

Science Teacher

Science for Schools 2013 promises to be as exciting as ever with a wide range of events, workshops and day packages suitable for Key Stages 1-3. Schools can also book from a range of free activities to ensure that pupils and teachers have a great day out.

This years’ programme reflects a number of teachers’ suggestions for topics, amongst them forensics, computer science, genetics and space – to highlight just a few – as well as plenty of activities and experiences that can’t be easily replicated in school.

An exciting development for this year is our ‘BUSary’ scheme, a small amount of funding that will help some schools to attend the Science Festival by subsidising the cost of their transport. Also, for the first time, schools will be able to take part in our free ExperiTent activities – interactive workshops about cutting-edge science and technology led by experienced University staff.

Prices start from just £5 a ticket and with over 60 activities to choose from, as well as the Discover Zone and Discovery Trail, we hope that schools from all over Gloucestershire and further afield will be inspired to take part in the Science Festival.
