Our programme of creative writing workshops is a core element of the Literature Festival and recognised nationwide for the quality of its tutors. Write Away offers a wide range of courses in terms of both content and length and workshops are aimed at all levels of ability.
No matter if you have just started developing your writing or if you’re well into your first adventure on the page, Write Away will offer you many opportunities to work together with renowned authors and highly experienced tutors on growing your talent. In the spirit of giving our audience as many opportunities as possible to get stuck in, each year we offer a changing programme of complimentary workshops, such as Theatre or Bookcraft.
The Festival offers a modular course on all aspects of ficiton and life writing. Students can choose from individual workshops or bok a combination of five (one workshop from each weekday) for a comprehensive five-day course. All courses are capped at a maximum of thirty people.
All workshops in this series take place at St. Andrew's Church.

Shorter than our workshops, they give an excellent opportuntiy to soak up information, immerse yourself in the subject and listen to the advice given by our experts.
Masterclasses take place at The Playhouse Theatre.
As in previou years, we continue to offer our popular two-day workshops, capped at a maximum of twenty people and suitable for all levels of ability.
All workshops in this series take place in the luxurious Hotel du Vin,a nd the prices are inclusive of teas, coffees and lunch at the hotel restaurant.
