When Kamasi Washington released The Epic in 2015 it reached number one in iTunes Jazz charts around the world. It has made him a torchbearer for the new generation and one of the biggest names in jazz right now.

His music is scattered with elements of hip-hop, classical and R&B music, all major influences on the young saxophonist and bandleader. Since The Epic he has collaborated with influential artists such as Kendrick Lamar, John Legend and Run the Jewels, and made tour stops including Glastonbury, Coachella and now Cheltenham.

An extravagant love letter to (among other things): soul, jazz, John Coltrane (various periods) and 1970s fusion leaders like Miles Davis and Weather Report.
