Friday, September 30, 2011 - 19:00

Massed voices…blazing brass…a Chinese X-factor winner…folk treasures…Gloucestershire Dance…and Giffords Circus

The High Sheriff of Gloucestershire celebrates the county's performing arts talent

Gloucester Cathedral hosts a spectacular array of locally resident talent in this showcase event produced by Cheltenham Festivals in association with Mark Heywood, the county's High Sheriff.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Singer Mary-Jess, winner of China's version of X-factor
  • Johnny Coppin, one of the UK's foremost folk singer-songwriters
  • The Flowers Band, who will close the evening with Mars from Holst's The Planets
  • A specially commissioned site-specific dance piece from Gloucestershire Dance
  • Kwabana Lindsay, one of Giffords Circus' favourite acts
  • Tenor James Gilchrist, who will sing Purcell, Handel and Britten with the Corelli Orchestra.
