Who are we?

Supporting all four Cheltenham Festivals, the Education team devises and delivers an exciting programme of activity for schools and other groups in Gloucestershire and sometimes further afield.

This involves both project-based outreach work and administrative support for those schools who wish to visit festival events - in particular the Science for Schools programme and Book It! for Schools at the Literature Festival.

Outreach education projects usually culminate in a performance or an exhibition at the relevant Festival. Planning and delivering the projects to user groups takes place in the months preceding a festival.

Our key objectives

• to broaden access for groups and individuals who would not normally attend the festivals
• to dispel the impression that ‘the festivals are not for us’
• to build audiences for the future
• to provide a high-quality, wide-reaching and diverse education and outreach component that each Festival, and the organisation as a whole, is proud of
