Literature for Schools 2017

Michael Rosen, Tanya Landman, Katherine Rundell and Jim Field are just some of the brilliant authors and illustrators who featured in the Literature for Schools programme at this year’s The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. Over 9000 pupils and staff from 89 schools came along to six fun-filled days.

Workshops involved creative writing, illustration, book-making, drama and speech writing.

All of this took place on our fantastic new site in Montpellier Gardens where Free activities included pop-up storytelling and the Famous Five Story Trail. Eleven local schools produced art work for the Where’s Wally? Trail which extended into the town.

If you didn’t make it this year why not have a quick look at our offer for 2017, to inspire you to plan a visit in 2018:

What did the teachers say?

The students were all so excited, engaged and enthusiastic. Some of our more reserved students were inspired to continue with their creative ideas after the session and all were thrilled that they were able to have their books signed by Steve Camden and have a photo with him afterwards
Severn Vale School
Thank you. The children loved it and came away feeling really inspired. The whole trip was very smooth from the moment we stepped off the coach and we were made to feel very welcome.
