Congratulations to Sriram Iyer from Pate’s Grammar School for becoming the 2017 FameLab Academy winner after delivering his energetic talk on dreams.

Josh Thomas from Wyedean School and Sydney Davies from Dean Close School were runners-up.
Some of this year’s topics covered life on Mars, dementia, the science of spots, size comparison of the universe and the secret superpower of geckos.
Jo Durrant from BBC Radio Gloucestershire, Jonny Brooks-Bartlett, Data Scientist at News UK and Gwen Parry Jones, OBE, Generation Development Director at EDF Energy were the judges and were amazed at the enthusiasm and passion delivered on stage by all the finalists.

The 13 schools who participated this year were from All Saint’s Academy, Chosen Hill School, Dean Close School, Dene Magna School, Millbrook Academy, Pate’s Grammar School, Rednock School, St.Edward’s School, Stroud High School, The Cotswold School, Thomas Keble School, Westonbirt School and Wyedean School and Sixth Form Centre.
This project has been a fantastic opportunity to get students engaged with STEM on a whole new level – just brilliant!
