As part of our percussion focus this year, we are offering schools workshops for KS2 children led by percussionist Sacha Johnson in the week leading up to the Festival. Workshops are for a class-sized group (up to 35) and will take place in participating schools. Each workshop will last for about an hour and cost £80. As part of the package, participating groups will be offered free tickets to the Concert for Schools. To book a workshop or for further details please contact the education team on education@cheltenhamfestivals.com or 01242 775822 / 01242 775891

Monday 4 July / 10.30am / Cheltenham Town Hall
Created specially for school children (KS2 and KS3), this is a tailor-made tour through some of the great things happening at this year’s Festival. Featuring solo contributions from James Rhodes and Sacha Johnson, and snapshots of the work from Bandwagon and the Festival Academy, the young audience will also have the opportunity to create an interactive, Reich-inspired piece.
Tickets cost £2 per pupil and are available from the Box Office on 01242 505444.
Cheltenham Music Festival is committed to making music accessible to all, and once again we are offering free tickets to accompanied school groups — this year for midweek morning concerts at the Pittville Pump Room.
This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience the thrill of live music. Tickets are subject to availability, and booking opens on 18 May 2011.
